The pictures are to show everyone what her eye looked like before the aneurysm and throughout the years…. And to what her eye looks like now. I want to start off by saying this isn’t easy for any of us and we absolutely hate to ask for any help. But our hearts hurt for our Mother. This is our Mother’s story in her own words………My story begins October 5, 2005 when my left eye completely shut. After 9 days of pain and many tests, the Doctors discovered a brain aneurysm in the optic nerve of my left eye. Surgery was scheduled the next day October 15. I was put in ICU. At 1:32 am it felt like and sounded like a bomb going off in my head. I told the nurse and she just thought it was my pain meds making say crazy things. During surgery that morning the Doctors seen the ruptured aneurysm but continued with inserting coils. The last coil sprung out, part staying in the aneurysm and the other part going into the middle of the brain. They said there would be no complications. I had my 1st seizure 6 days later. Have been having them since. My left eye opened up 7 months later. But over the last 19+ years, the left lid had closed. I even had a lid lift that only lasted a month. Spring forward to June 28, 2024 and a pain hit me. My husband and daughter took me to the ER. They said it looked like melanoma of the eye. I was referred to several specialists for 2nd and 3rd opinions. Finally went to the University of Iowa and found a wonderful Doctor and staff that said yes, it’s cancer. Finally after 7 months of constant pain, the left eye was removed January 22, 2025. Woohoo no more pain! I have hit another brick wall, my insurance doesn’t cover a fake eye or lid lift because those are cosmetic. I have gone through almost 20 years of people staring, making rude comments under their breath and children being frightened of me. I just want to look normal. I’m one of only 6 in a million that gets this cancer. I have survived a ruptured brain aneurysm that should have killed me. I have fought this cancer and beat it. God is keeping me around for a reason and I truly feel blessed! I am asking for help with getting me a fake eye and lid lift. If any of you could help with the medical bills so I can feel and look normal again, I would appreciate it. Every little bit will help. Thank you and God Bless you all! If you do not feel comfortable donating through the “go fund me” app, you are always able to reach out to me (Stephanie Wyatt) and I have Venmo or Cash App. Or if you would like to send our parents donations another way, please reach out to one of them. Billy Wyatt and Rhonda Wyatt. They are also welcome to gift cards to restaurants for when they are on the road to and from Iowa. I know my parents would be grateful for any help and prayers you can send their way. And please… SHARE!!!! ♥️♥️ Love you all and thank you so much!
