Please Help Regine Overcome Medical Challenges
I am helping my Sister-in-law Regine in the Philippines. This is the message from her daughters, please read their story.
Dear friends and kind strangers,
I am reaching out to you during one of the most challenging times my family has ever faced. At the start of January 2024, my mom was rushed to the hospital with difficulty breathing and swollen legs. After numerous tests, she was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5. As you can imagine, this diagnosis came with overwhelming medical expenses.
Alongside her CKD, my mom has battled other serious health conditions including psoriasis, diabetes, and arthritis. We have managed her medical expenses so far with the support of friends and some of her retirement savings, but as her condition progressed, her need for constant dialysis became imperative. She requires dialysis three times a week, costing us roughly Php 40,000 a month, which is an immense financial burden considering our family's monthly income is only around Php 50,000.
To add to our struggles, just a few days ago on December 11, 2024, after her dialysis session, she was retained in the hospital due to severe weakness. Following tests, we learned that she has pneumonia, and fluid has accumulated in her lungs. The doctors recommended an urgent angiogram due to concerning results regarding her heart health. This led to a high-risk angioplasty procedure where six stents were placed in her heart, costing us approximately Php 2,000,000.
(Update as of 12/19, down to Php 1,000,000 Thank you, Lord!)
Now, we are at a loss. Our savings are depleted, and we don’t know where to turn for help. My sister and I are doing our best to cover our family while our younger sister is still in university, but the mounting medical bills are overwhelming.
This is a heartfelt plea for help. We are asking for any amount you can contribute, no matter how small, to help us cover these critical medical expenses. Your support means the world to us and can make a significant difference in my mom's life.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and please consider sharing it with others who may be able to help.
