A few nights ago, we noticed our baby Reese breathing funny. We made an appointment with our vet, but unfortunately yesterday his behavior began to change and we had to take him to our pet urgent care. There they discovered he had fluid buildup by his lungs, a condition known as pleural effusion, and referred him to stay overnight in an emergency pet hospital. We had to scramble to pay a $4200 deposit for his care and ended up putting most of it on credit cards to ensure his safety. Luckily, they took good care of him and ran many tests, but discovered he has a kind of cancer called lymphoma which is causing the fluid buildup up. Upon discharge they informed us we had a $900 credit to apply towards our account, which we kept on the account to go towards future oncologist visits. He is home now being monitored and we scheduled an appointment with the oncologist on Monday. We are raising money to help pay off as much of the deposit as possible, and are researching options to pay for continuing treatments as we learn more about the condition. We adopted him as a kitten, and he is only 3 years old. Please help us provide the best possible care for our boy for whatever time he has left. Thank you.
