As you are likely aware, jamaica as a whole and specifically St Elizabeth and the treasure beach area were devestated by hurricane Melissa at the end of Oct. 2025. Recovery will be a long effort, requiring patience, dedication, faith and of course, money.
Eggy is not new to starting over. Jamaica is no stranger to new beginnings and as a nation, Jamaica is known for resilience, fortitude and courage. This is not the first time Eggy has faced rebuilding after a storm or tragedy. But this is different. This time the devastation is so widespread and so massive and so many people are in dire situations. More than ever the strength of community will carry Treasure Beach through the worst. Among the multitudes of issues people are facing after Melissa is how their businesses and gathering places have been destroyed. Normally, November is when tourist season begins. Eggy's is a gathering spot for tourists and locals alike. A hub for fishermen, and an undeniable draw for international visitors, many who return as often as they can not just for Eggy, but to see the whole community of Treasure Beach and to feel the warmth and love and inclusiveness that the community proudly and freely gives. If you can donate to help rebuild eggy's bar, your gift will make an impact on the whole community of Treasure Beach.
