These guys are having a really challenging time! Randyl asked me not to launch this campaign but I pushed him by helping him to recognize that it's not just about him by himself anymore. There's at least as much love, laughter and gratitude in their home as in any I've ever seen. and as their aunt, their mother's sister, I feel like I have to rally the troupes or something! The love and gratitude in that home keep spirits full but keeping the oil tank full is another matter!
It has been almost exactly one year (December 23rd to be precise) since their father died of covid and the estate is STILL locked in probate. It seems the court is profoundly backed up because of the pandemic and we were recently told that their case won't be looked at for maybe as many as 6 to 8 months! We were also told that the court didn't want to hear about their extenuating circumstances because in the age of covid everyone has extenuating circumstances.

God bless Randyl. He took a deep breath, moved into his childhood home permanently and after recovering from a long haul case of the same strain of covid that killed his father, he has put his own life on hold to become father and mother! Both Larry and Glen have been experiencing ongoing health challenges and rotating full blown health crises. Randyl spent much of October in the E/R with one or the other and told me he couldn't imagine not taking on the primary responsibility for his two brothers. When I asked him if he wanted me to come out to help, he confidently exclaimed his time in the E/R gave him extra time to work on his writing and that I should stay home and take care of our own crises! It is that attitude that makes me want to do what I can to help him and his brothers.
If you aren't aware, Randyl refers to Larry and to Glen as 'special grace' individuals and prefers that phrase over 'special needs'. He says that their needs are not the dominant aspect of who these two men are. Sandy Brown launched an incredible Go-Fund-Me immediately after Joel died which truly saved their bacon. But that money, along with Randyl's savings has just about run out over this dramatic year. Joel was still paying for Elli (Ilse's) massive hospital debt that far exceeded her insurance coverage. Randyl inherited that debt, along with the property, its school taxes, the repairs on the family cars, the house itself, etc. etc.. Everyone reading this knows the drill. But these guys have two non income earners. So Randyl just had three lives (Glen's and Larry's as well as Joel's unfinished business) suddenly plopped into his lap and his attitude is always, "Gratitude for it all! May it all be blessed in me!"
Randyl has been a master at meeting his parents' and brothers' and the household financial obligations and of course his own. And during the sudden physical and financial unexpected uptick he has attempted to return to full time work and each cycle of job search was aborted when one and then the other brother's health spiraled pulling Randyl from the application process. Thankfully, those ongoing crises have stabilized and Randyl is now actively looking to reignite his once very successful consulting company or to find a career opportunity that will meet the considerable financial obligations. Even when the probate matter is resolved, we discovered that their mom's health bills ate up much of the savings Joel and Elli so diligently set aside!
When not caring for Glen and / or Larry, Randyl has managed to take on volunteer senior shopping. As if he didn't have enough on his plate, Randyl vowed that any seniors he could personally help avoid covid exposure like his father, he would. So he's grocery shopping for them on a volunteer basis! Now he's even taken on driving seniors to get their booster shots if and when he can be of service. So the cold hard facts are these! This beautiful, unique and loving family needs financial help.
Randyl will most certainly will get on his feet and I'm excited to see what happens in this next chapter of his life with his career in hospitality and with his writing and with his singing. But until he does, I'm certain we can help the boys raise a few hundred or a few thousand dollars as this sad anniversary is upon us! Tender times!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. ANYTHING you could contribute would be an immense blessing. Joy to the World and have a very blessed holiday!
