My name is Lilli and I am a graduate student at Jefferson University. I walk past Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia every day and talk to the kindest man named Randy who is in a wheelchair and sleeps outside with his dog, Lily. Randy and Lily were evicted suddenly after their building was condemned a week ago, and Lily will be moved into a foster home for a year while Randy moves into a shelter to get back on his feet. Lily and Randy are an absolute bonded pair, and in the 5 minutes I held her leash so he could step away to charge his phone, she cried and whimpered and waited without breaking eye contact for him to come back.
These two deserve to stay together and deserve to be able to go back home. Randy told me, "I always would take her camping; I am sure she thinks this is just a long camping trip." My heart breaks at the thought of them losing each other and facing the next steps without the unconditional love one another provides.
Randy asks for nothing and hesitantly accepts help. He deserves so much more than the hands that were dealt, and I am asking for anything anyone can do to help keep them together and get Randy and Lily back home. He is a veteran, he is disabled, and he and lily deserve to spend these years of their lives with each other.
Funds will be used to move Randy back into a home and stay with his baby, Lily and address her health concerns.
Beth Peskin is my mother and she met Randy,
he would prefer the funds go in her account so she can set up an account for him. That’s why it says to Beth Peskin, Randy’s choice!
