On Friday, April 14th, around 5a.m., I was rescued from my burning home on 19th Street & Kerrigan Avenue in Union City by my brave friend. She rescued my two children, her own child & myself, in the most heroic way. How can I thank you forever, Carla?

As a result of the fire, my two children and I, now find ourselves displaced. We have lost everything from a home in Union City, NJ where my family has lived at for over 20 years. Some of you have shared times here with me.

Currently, I am at a specialized hospital for burn victims, and have progressed from critical to more stable condition. They have assessed me as containing 3rd degree burns.

My family is organizing this page for me & helping me every way they can. Just like my beloved neighbors, we now have nothing, but we do still have our lives. Praise God.

As I work to regain my strength & health, I will be in intensive care for the next few weeks. I want to thank all my friends and family in advance for any help you can provide for us in this time.
