Richmond Christian School Gym Renovation Project

Our non-profit organization is a school that supports our local community and students from Kindergarten through 12th grade by Educating Hearts & Minds for Christ. We have a single gym that supports all physical education classes and all indoor sports for all grades. The gym was built many years ago and still has the original bleachers and original floor. Both have outlasted their useful lives and need to be replaced to provide an improved environment for our students and spectators.

Our beautiful and nostalgic campus was built in the 1960s. Most of our capital funds are being spent on replacing roofs, windows, heating units, and air conditioning units, thereby making gym renovations more difficult to fund. The gym bleachers are currently worn-out wood and will be replaced with durable polymer and steel bleachers that will last for years to come. The total proposed cost of the bleachers from a well-established, reliable vendor is $69,800.

The gym floor needs repairs due to damage from a leaky roof. There are patches of rotted wood and uneven surfaces on the floor. The gym roof was finally replaced last year, so we can now work on the inside of the gym. The total proposed cost for the repairs and refinishing of the gym floor from a well-established, reliable vendor is $22,000.

Since the gym is used by ALL grades, this project will be extremely beneficial to our entire student body. We have already raised $9,075 which is specifically designated for the bleachers.
