Hi, I'm the owner of Olive a beautiful 5 year old exotic shorthair cat.
Sadly back in October last year Olive got run over and was left for dead as the driver didn't stop. Olive is an indoor cat so isn't used to being outside, we still dont know how she got out. Thankfully a neighbour recognised her in the road and alerted us.
She was taken straight to the emergency vets as it was nighttime where she had first aid and was kept comfortable over night before being transferred to her usual vets the next day.
At first we didn't think she'd make it there was blood everywhere, she sustained a broken jaw and an eye injury, aswell as shock.
Olive's jaw was wired and fixed. She had to be fed through a feeding tube at first, which was placed through her neck into her stomach, as she couldn't use her jaw. Her eye was initially treated with medication.
Over time Olive's jaw started to heal and she was able to have the feeding tube removed and start eating. Unfortunately her eye kept getting worse rather than better. The decision was made to remove her eye as it was so painful.
Olive's eye socket has never healed it keeps opening up despite being closed with sutures several times. She is currently on medication to keep infection away and needs to undergo another surgery that will hopefully fix her eye socket shut.
Unfortunately our funds are running very low now with the vet bills as she's been constantly in and out since October. She's been through so much and is a little fighter we really want her to have the surgery and medication that she needs to be better.
We are so grateful for any donations towards Olive's treatment no matter how small.
Thank you for reading Olive's story we hope to be able to update you with some happy news.
