Please Help Pony

hi everyone! if you know me, you know it’s extremely rare and difficult for me (and probably most people) to ask for help, especially financial help. i am a painfully private person.  however, i’m in a very tough situation right now.

on wednesday, i underwent a major surgery and stayed three days in the hospital. this was a scheduled procedure and i thought i had everything in place for it in advance. however, just before the surgery i lost my only source of income (temporarily, but at the very worst time) and along with that, experienced a lapse in insurance. 

to make matters worse, the family member i had in place to take care of my kids during my 6-8 week recovery (i am on total bedrest, can’t lift more than 10 pounds, and have 3 kids ages 10, 4, and 3) had their own personal situation arise and can now only be here for the first 10 days or so.

i am trying to raise money for some of the monthly things i am now behind on, unexpected medical expenses (including an extra night in the hospital i had to pay for out of pocket that day) and primarily so that i can pay for someone to provide around-the-clock, in-home care for my kids and/or potentially a nurse type person occasionally for me, too, for the next couple of months. i also have several more upcoming procedures over the next year that i’m trying to prepare for. 

(i have absolutely no family who can step in to do this, or i would start there. my mom lives hours away and her poor health would not allow her to care for three small kids all day, every day. i’m not close to any other family and no one else i know could be away from their own jobs and lives for this long!)

if you can help in any way, even the smallest amount or sharing this fundraiser with other people, it sure would mean a lot to me! i have been part of the Twitter community for about 10 years and have never needed to ask for anything (even just recently when my daughter had her toe nearly amputated, which we literally JUST recovered from!)  and definitely hope i never have to again. 

it would be such a relief to know that these things will be taken care of. right now i’m just stressed beyond belief.

btw i totally understand being skeptical of fundraising, historically i have been too. it is not always easy giving money to someone you don’t REALLY know. and sometimes you just can’t!  it will not hurt my feelings if you simply can’t or don’t wish to help, i promise. i’ll keep telling you terrible jokes regardless :)
