UPDATE FROM ATHENA- 02/18/2024

”With a heavy heavy heavy heart I wanna update everyone on my Piper girl. She lost her battle and fight with all she was going through. Went in for surgery last night, we got a call during her surgery that there were complications and her uterus had ruptured and went into her stomach. My daughter and her bf and I went to visit her lastnight and were unable to see her because they said she was back in emergency surgery because she started hemorrhaging. The doctor called this morning and said she was declining and asked if we could be there within the hour to see her and to talk to him. We got there in less then a hour and they put us in a comfortable room and he came in and was telling us about how her liver and kidneys were shutting down and her oxygen and red blood cells were really bad, he then said we’ve been performing CPR for the last 27 minutes and she’s not responding to it at all. Our hearts sunk in that moment. She was gone and I gave her all the last kisses I could give her. Called my kids and Sissy and Freddy were able to come and give her all the last love she could be given. My babygirl is gone and has her wings now. We appreciate all the love and support we have received from everyone that has helped out whether it be the donations or just the messages we’ve got. ***The ER is giving us until Wednesday to cover the remaining costs including all the extra they had to do because her uterus ruptured as well as the additional costs for her second emergency surgery.*** We’re going to have her cremated because I don’t think my dad’s place has anymore room for fur babies. We literally lost Bubba less than a year ago. Once again thank you to all your love and support just in the last 24 hours.”

*UPDATE: 2/17/2024 @10:15 pm: Piper made it through the surgery to remove her uterus. She is now back In emergency surgery due to hemorrhaging. Please help if you can. I am starting this on behalf of my best friends Athena & Ricky and their precious doggie Piper. They had to take Piper to the Emergency Vet clinic in Salem this morning (2/17/24) and they found out that Piper had an infection in her uterus and needed emergency surgery to have her uterus removed. Once she was in surgery, the vet found out her uterus had ruptured, causing the infection to leak into Piper’s abdomen. Piper is a love bug. This is all for Piper!
