Please help Pilar and Mike Walters

I have started this GoFundMe to benefit my sister, Pilar, and her husband, Mike Walters.

On January 16th, my sweet dear sister was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer.

My sister‘s cancer is aggressive. It seems every week she has had a face an additional challenge. Earlier this week, she lost the feeling in her legs and can no longer move them. Her team suspects this is going to be permanent. News like this, as you can imagine, it’s just crushing. Emotionally and physically, this cancer has taken so much from her… It is relentless.

My sister’s husband is an interstate truck driver and is the sole income earner for the family. His routes take him away for days at a time as far west as Texas, and north into New England.

Based on his company guidelines, his job will be protected if he takes time off to be with my sister, but there will be no income.

Having cancer is not cheap and out of pocket maximums are tough particularly when you couple loss of income at the same time.

In my humble opinion, they need to treasure each and every day that they have together… I am here asking you to help them do that.

If you are in a position to spare a little, please consider donating. Any amount would be greatly appreciated to help towards our goal to help Pilar and Mike. Funds raised are for medical bills and other costs related to her treatment and care.
