Hello,

Some of you know me as Elizabeth Nidever, writer of strange plays and family law paralegal. Others know me as Pepper Sharpe, paralegal by day, your favorite pocket-size pinup by night. I am asking very humbly for help during a rough time.

On Thursday, March 9th, I went to the ER for extreme abdominal pain, thinking it was either an ovarian cyst or my appendix. Instead, I was informed my CT scan showed the beginning stage of SMA Syndrome and Nutcracker Syndrome, which boils down to compression on my abdominal aorta and renal artery. There is no full blockage, but it’s enough to cause me the screaming pain I was in.

As I write this, on March 13, 2023, I am still in the hospital. I’ve had 3 CT scans, a HIDA scan, an EEG (as my epilepsy was affected from all the stress of the pain and lack of my system absorbing nutrients), and more blood than I’m sure my body holds taken out of me. I do not know when I will be released. Surgery is being discussed.

I have ZERO medical insurance to cover any of this. None. Nada. I am in the process of trying for financial assistance, but that takes time, and I am also losing money by being away from my job.
