Penelope was abandoned at Parkwest Bicycle Casino. For over a week the employees and some customers tried to catch this sweet scared little girl. It was raining and cold and she was so scared.

She was finally caught and taken in by a wonderful volunteer (Sarah) who was working to find a foster for her to stay with. Sarah had a friend offer to foster this sweet girl (probably foster fail since he is the one who named her).

But before we could send her to the new home we wanted to make sure she was healthy and get her micro chipped.

When we took her in to get her wellness check, vaccinations and microchipped we discovered much to our surprise she was only between 6 and 9 months old. The vet suspected she was pregnant so an ultra sound was performed, we were advised she was between 2-3 weeks from Whelping (giving birth)

We are going to get an x-ray to determine how many puppies and check their size as we are unsure of the father.

So now instead of saving one dog we have saved a family. With this comes a huge amount of unexpected expenses. The plan right now is Sarah and I will share custody and responsibility for Penelope and the babies. They will be at my house.

We are raising money to help cover the cost of vet care of this little family.

Whelping and raising her puppies can be very expensive; there is always a chance of complications during labor and we want to be sure we can provide Penelope and her puppies the best care possible if needed.

The puppies will also need a wellness check shortly after birth.

They will get their vaccinations, microchips and whatever else Is needed before going to their forever homes. Penelope will need to be spayed before she can go home with the amazing man who is going to “foster” her. Jed is an amazing dog owner and was a foster fail before he even met her.

Any money raised above what is needed after all the dogs have been adopted. will be donated to a dog rescue to help others like Penelope!!
