I am Melissa, and I am blessed to call Emily my sister. Emily is the thoughtful one, that has everything planned out. We do not know where we would be without her.

 

If you know Emily, you know that she goes non stop! She has been busy homeschooling and taking the kids to activities from sunup to sundown since the school year began. After months of long days and not enough rest, Emily came down with pneumonia at Thanksgiving. 

Emily toughed it out for a month, fighting high fevers and fits of coughing. By December 18th the virus had progressed, and Emily encountered her first real scare when she coughed up blood. On December 23rd she went to the ER, where they immediately admitted her. The doctors have discovered that her Wegener’s Granulomatosis is causing inflammation in her lungs. After multiple tests it was ruled out that all her previous infection was gone. Emily is constantly struggling to breath, blood is obstructing her airways and making it very difficult to breath. Wegener’s is a vasculitis disease, and the inflammation in her lungs is causing blood to pool and clot.

At this time, we are unaware of all the medical/living expenses Emily and her family will encounter. We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, especially right around the Holidays. If you are unable to give, please continue to pray for Emily’s full recovery and remission of her disease.
