Please help our boy Paddy. Last week We found a growth on his leg, the vet advised the best course of action was to have it removed and sent for testing as cancer is a high possibility. We had already talked as a family and knew we could fight whatever was attacking our little boy.
After waking from the anaesthetic something has gone wrong and possibly damaged Paddy’s brain. He is now suffering unusual seizures every 15 minutes. Paddy is currently in ICU at Werribee animal hospital. His symptoms do not match anything in the current medical literature and the vets doing everything they can to assist.
We will be driving to and from Werribee daily, as Paddy’s fur brothers still need us at home too.
The bills currently stand at $9 thousand which is over what we had put away for the initial cost of surgery and treatment for the tumour and we will need to be financially prepared for whatever comes along concerning the neurological problems. The results for the leg tumour will arrive next week and will decide best course of action in combination with the neurological issues.
We are fully prepared to go in to debt and handle this ourselves although any help at all would be appreciated.
A single dollar donated may not change the world, but it may change the world for one little Bear.
We have known Paddy for 5 years. In 2014 Debby flew down to Tasmania from Melb to find a puppy to adopt. Whilst cuddling several tiny chubby pups at the shelter she couldn’t ignore another dog who was shrieking and clawing At his cage for attention. Debby went over to him for a pat and 2 days later took him home. Paddy was an unwanted Xmas pup, surrendered at 5months. When in tas, Paddy-Bear spent time in Tasmanian correctional facilities teaching the residents there about forgiveness and compassion and later in Melb has visited adults with different disabilities, always ensuring squeals of joy and licks galore!
During the past 5 years with Paddy we have had some amazing adventures, family holidays, train rides new brothers for him to play with and relocated to rural Victoria.
He had a rough start to life but Paddy bear is full of pure joy! Everyone he meets is a best friend for life and a face to lick.
