Please help Oyster Adams 7th Graders get to Spain
Tax deductible
The Oyster Adams Middle School 7th grade community is seeking donations to help send 7th graders at Oyster Adams Bilingual School to Spain for an immersive exchange program.
Seventh grade at Oyster Adams Middle School is the time when students get a chance to fully immerse themselves in Spanish language, education and culture through an exchange program with students in Spain, either Granada or Pamplona. After years of study in a bilingual program, students will get the opportunity to spend two weeks with their host families practicing their Spanish language skills and absorbing Spanish residential life. During this time, they will go to school with their Spanish “siblings” and be a part of all of the normal daily activities with their host families. The students will then host their Spanish sibling for two weeks in DC. This is an amazing experience for all the kids involved.
We are a DC public middle school and the funds for this trip have to be raised by our community. The cost of this program exceeds $2000 per student which is a hefty expense for many of our families. This exchange trip is a highlight for our kids in their 8th year of bilingual education at Oyster Adams. We want ALL students who have a desire to participate in this amazing exchange program to be able to do so. We want to make sure that no kid is left behind for lack of funds. Please support us if you can – any amount will help!
