I want to start off by saying I did not want to have to do this. I NEVER ask anyone for anything and would do whatever I had to do to make things work out before asking for help. So please understand how incredibly hard and embarrassing this is for us.
On March 15th at 4:30 pm, I got one of the scariest calls a parent can get when they have a child who drives. Our son let us know he had been in a car accident and that his car was totaled. We rushed out the door to be by his side (less than a mile from our house). When we got there, the relief to see him standing there was amazing, seeing as his car was completely smashed and his airbags did not go off (thank God for seatbelts). Cops arrived and informed us the other driver (who is at fault) didn't have a valid driver's license. His car was able to be moved, but my son's was not. His car had to be towed clear across town from us. The other driver was simply cited for not having a license and was let go.
We are now being told by the tow yard we have this outstanding bill with them, and if it's not paid, a lien will be placed on my son and husband. The other driver also doesn't have valid insurance, so any hopes of my son being able to get money for another car is out the window as well.
My son spent his all getting this car and doing everything to get it LEGAL and be legal ON HIS OWN! He was so proud of himself for being able to do this, and now he's being dealt a very unfair hand while this other person is simply getting a slap on the hand.
If you have made it this far, THANK YOU! I know things are hard for everyone right now and again, I never wanted to do this. We just need some help to get our boy back on his feet. Even if you can't donate but can just share, I would appreciate it more than you will ever know. Just know this will be used SOLELY FOR HIM.
