Cuca’s Update — The Critical Next Two Weeks

 Earlier this week, Cuca underwent a delicate procedure with a specialist from Colorado State University’s top-ranked veterinary program. She came home that evening — sore, fragile, and exhausted, but still the determined little fighter we love so much.

The next two weeks are critical. Cuca is home and in our care, and we’re watching her closely to make sure she’s healing the way she should. If she needs more help, we want to be able to act right away — your support now gives us that peace of mind.

Thanks to so many of you, we’ve already raised $3,000 toward her care. But we still need $750 more to cover any unexpected costs in her recovery. Without it, we risk delays in getting her the help she might urgently need.

 Why We’re Fighting for Her

Cuca isn’t “just a dog.” She’s a rescue, a survivor, and the heart of our little family. Alejandro first met her and her sister, Tequila, through a man experiencing homelessness. Unable to care for them anymore, the man told Alejandro, “You’re their hero now.”

From that day forward, she’s been part of our family. She’s Alejandro’s shadow — squealing with joy when he walks in the door, lighting up when I say, “Daddy’s almost home.” The love between them is pure and unconditional. She’s our heartbeat at home.
