Aloha Everyone,
My name is Kaydi Kim (aka: "Star Kaydi"), and My Mommy & Daddy call me their Real-Life Young Princess Leia; I'll tell you more details about that later.
But first, please allow me to tell you the "abridged version" of my life-story; I hope you enjoy reading/viewing my campaign just as much as My Daddy enjoyed putting it together for your viewing pleasure.
Mahalo Nui Loa,
Kaydi Kim ("Star Kaydi")

MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS #1: I have multiple severe medical conditions, most of which started from before I was born (in-utero), and have rendered me to be permanently lifetime-disabled; my Major Medical Conditions are:
■ HIGH-RISK PREGNANCY (TWINS): As a welcomed-surprise to my wonderful parents, they were informed that there was *TWO* of us in our first-trimester ultrasounds!! Towards the end of our second-trimester, the radiologist who was monitoring our progress noticed that one of our umbilical cords was around that unborn fetus' neck; and unfortunately, that umbilical cord & neck just-so-happened to be mine!! *GASP*
■ MASSIVE IN-UTERO STROKE: My umbilical cord being wrapped around my neck as well as having a co-occupant in my "personal space" caused me to experience a Massive In-Utero Stroke, resulting in Severe Cerebral Hypoxia (Oxygen Deprivation) during the critical latter-stage development of my unborn brain.
■ TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY: My Massive In-Utero Sroke (causing Severe Cerebral Hypoxia), then caused me to experience a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI); resulting in 75% loss-of-development to my Unborn Right Brain.
■ GLOBAL COGNITIVE DELAY: My TBI has resulted in severe multiple secondary medical conditions, the most significant (but unnoticeable) is my Global Cognitive Delay; which is about 5 years: I've been assessed at the functional level of a 2nd grader, but I'm 13 years old (just started 8th grade).

MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS #2: In addition to the previous slide, I also have the following severe medical conditions:
■ LEFT-SIDE HEMIPARESIS: The most noticeable of my secondary medical conditions resulting from my extensive TBI is my Left-Side Hemiparesis, which is a significant physical weakness of both my left wrist/arm/hand & my left leg/ankle/foot.
■ EARLY-ONSET SCOLIOSIS: In late-September 2018 I was diagnosed with severe case of Early-Onset Scoliosis.
■ INCREASING COBB ANGLE: On Monday, July 1, 2019, my doctor at Shriners Hospital for Children Honolulu informed My Daddy that my Cobb Angle (measurement of the degree of side-to-side spinal curvature) had been increasing steadily since late-September 2018.
■ POSSIBLE SPINAL FUSION SURGERY: Since my Cobb Angle has been steadily increasing (about 10 degrees every 3-4 months, my Shriners doctor recommended Spinal Fusion Surgery: which involves attaching rods to the spinal column to help straighten it. Then bone graft is applied between the affected vertebrae, which encourages fusion to prevent further progression of the curve.

ASSISTIVE & CORRECTIVE DEVICES: As a result of my Left-Side Hemiparesis, I wear/use the following Assistive & Corrective Devices:
■ LEFT ANKLE-FOOT ORTHOSIS: I have been wearing a Left Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) for several years, which guides the growth of my left-leg/ankle/foot in the correct direction/manner.
■ LEFT WRIST BRACE w/SPLINT: I have been wearing a Left Wrist Brace w/Splint for several years as well, which serves as a constant visual reminder for me to use my left hand; without it, I tend to only use my right hand all the time.
■ THORACIC LUMBAR SACRAL ORTHOSIS (Back Brace): I was wearing a Thoracic Lumbar Sacral Orthosis (TLSO) back brace for 18-23 hours per day from early-January to early-July; I stopped as of July 1, 2019 when my Shriners doctor said that the brace wasn't working & he recommended for me to get the Spinal Fusion Surgery.
■ TRANSPORTER WHEELCHAIR: My Daddy also bought me a Transporter Wheelchair, which has been a great help for them to take me places that involves lots of long-distance walking.

VIMEO VIDEO: "Star Kaydi Arrives via Handi-Van Transport" from an appointment at Shriners Hospital for Children Honolulu.

STAIRS: A DAUNTING TASK!!!: Although I've been living in our two-story house (walking up/down our/any stairs) for the past 13 (soon to be 14) years, My Mommy & Daddy have always been *VERY* concerned about me ever tripping and/or falling; especially on our/any stairs!!!
As such, somebody always needs to accompany me when walking up/down our/any stairs to ensure that I don't lose my balance. Plus, since I've already experienced one severe Traumatic Brain Injury which resulted in several severe secondary medical conditions (Global Cognitive Delay & Left-Side Hemiparesis), My Mommy & Daddy are terrified that even just a simplest "bump on the head" resulting from a trip or fall could be devastating for me!!! *GASP*

VIMEO VIDEO: "Star Kaydi Boards & Exits Special-Needs Bus Service..." which is her daily-routine during schooldays; Star Kaydi requires assistance for both Boarding & Exiting the Special-Needs Bus Service.

MY TWIN-BROTHER...LUKE!!!: Back to the reason why My Mommy & Daddy call me their Real-Life Young Princess Leia; that's because I have a Real-Life Twin Brother (Kameron) who dressed-up as Young Luke Skywalker to pose with me (as Young Princess Leia) for this awesome picture with Young Darth Vader & Young Boba Fett at the Disney-Aulani Resort Halloween 2012 Costume Party.
