Walters tail is being partially amputated tomorrow afternoon. They managed to do an X-ray today with no sedation, it’s broken and needs to be removed. The vet has been incredibly understanding with my situation, I had a 500 dollar donation from Balfour friends & all the money I’ve raised on go fund me/ from my friends and family, they’re doing the surgery and allowing me to pay once I have access to the rest of the go fund me money, any remaining balance I’ll have to fundraise some more to pay it off. They’re also giving me a 10-15% discount. I’m amazed at how wonderful and compassionate they have been. I will keep everyone posted on what’s happening going forward. This is the epitome of someone who does their job because they genuinely care & are passionate about what they do. I’m doing what I can outside of fundraising (taking side jobs, going to do a garage sale etc) to cover the remaining balance of the surgery. I will know the cost once the vet sends me an estimate

Hello! My name is Rachel, I’m a single mom on PWD (disability) and I’m trying to raise funds to help my cat, Walter. He’s an indoor/out door cat and 2 days ago he came home with a completely limp tail. He wouldn’t let anyone touch him, or go near him. Thankfully I had a friend lend me the money to get him to the vet to be assessed yesterday (sept 13/25) to know what needs to happen going forward. But even paying that back is going to set me back as I already have a hard time making ends meet. I have contacted every organization and potential funding there could be for us. He has been assessed and seen by a vet, and indeed does have trauma to his tail. He is home and on meds for 10 days but I need to contact the vet in 5 days. He will need to be sedated and have X-rays done, the quote for this is [phone redacted] dollars . This is just for X-rays/sedation/catheter etc to see if he needs surgery or not, as the vet was unable to properly examine him due to him being in pain.

Walter sleeps with Mason (my 8 year old son) every single night, he’s my baby but Walter is definitely his baby, we would be devastated if anything happened to Walter or if we lost him. I’m reaching out to the internet because I know it can work wonders sometimes. Please consider donating so we can get Walter the care he needs and deserves.
