Please help with Dino Bills and Flea Treatment
**Updated Dec 30,2020**I am very sad to say that Our Dino passed away on Dec.2nd, i have been too heartbroken to update the post. We are still needing help with his bills. During his last week of life, he racked up $1500 on our Care Credit card and maxed it out. and almost $400 more that we couldnt put on the card. $130 that was donated already went to that bill, leaving a balance of $250. When Dino was sick with Bobcat fever, the Vet told of of Bravecto, that it helps prevent Bobcat fever, and if the cats get it, that company pays for the treatment. Next week is when they are to get another dose, but because of Dino, we can not afford it. for 6 cats, it is $300 every 3 months. My husband thought that with it being January, we wouldnt have to worry about Fleas or Ticks, but it seems that this med wears off a week early, and Last night, i found a tick on one of our Orange Siamese cats. So Please help us get the meds for our cats.
Hello, Please meet Dino, our adorable 2 yr old that has had a tough few months. Back in June he had bobcat fever, stayed at vet for a few days, came home, then a few days later we had to take him back because he didnt seem to be doing so well, and ended up staying at the vet for a week because of a bad case of worms, and at at one point during that stay, they didnt think he was going to make it, a month later, the worms showed back up, gave him meds, and that finally cleared them. After he came home from the fever, he has never been the same cat. He no longer had interest in Litter box, he didnt jump on things, he seems like he is afraid of heights, if you dont put him down how a certain way, its like he is scared and starts shaking until his feet is on the floor. He stopped meowing, he stopped cleaning himself. It took him a some time to be able to walk steady, i just figured that was from being so sick, he did get to the point of slightly jogging sometimes (when it was his special feeding time)
Then recently i noticed he only peed about every 12-14 days, and pooped about once a day, then last weekend i noticed he really had a problem when he peed, then on Monday, he was excited to eat.. but didn't. So i called the vet. Tuesday the vet said he had symptoms of FIP and he was constipated, gave us pills ONLY for constipation. i was barely able to force him to take one, and 12 hours later he did poop some. I got connected to a special facebook group about FIP, and they said that there is no evidence of FIP. On weds, he seemed like he was about to give up, but i was able to force him to get some water, he ate a bit, and seemed better on Thursday. He would eat small amounts of food at a time, and i would syringe water from time to time, and he always seemed cold, and i would cover him up most of the time, and as days went on, he seemed grumpy, i was still talking to the FIP group, they were helping me, and then Yesterday they said "he is in pain and take him to vet ASAP" He hadn't peed since Thursday, pooped since Tuesday night. We got him there (75 miles away) and they tool him immediately. He ended up having a severe UTI, some crystals, his bladder was close to exploding, and he was severely constipated, and if we had waited even a few hours, it would have been too late.
The reason i am asking for help is because his latest update is that he is having problems regulating his temp, its been over 12 hours since he woke up from being put to sleep, and they are concerned with a brain issue. we are to pick him up tomorrow (11-30-2020)and take him to local vet for followup. This week alone has cost us about $1400, his original time in June cost about $1100. Yes, we do have the Care Credit Card, but we have now maxed it out, and cannot afford more treatment/vet costs. Because he may need more treatment/care/ vet visits, my husband is about done with spending money on Dino
Please Please help so that we do not have to resort to putting him down! I know everyone says their pet is special, but the second i saw him, i had to BEG my husband to let me have him, and i had even named him before Hubby gave in. And i had seen many many free kittens on facebook, but i just HAD to have Dino. PLEASE any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
