Please Help Kevin to Have a Quality Life After Trauma
Reverend Kevin T. Coughlin needs our help to have a better quality of life. A strong man of faith who has helped thousands to have better lives is now disabled. Kevin went from being a healthy, champion powerlifter and a nonprofit Ministry Director to a man who lives with chronic pain, can barely hold a pen, and spends his days in a wheelchair. All of his family members died recently, leaving him without help or means, alone in Pennsylvania.
The last few years have been a living Hell!
Kevin’s mother passed away several years ago. Then, Kevin developed crippling arthritis, neuropathy, disc disease, and kidney disease, leaving him in a wheelchair. In the spring of 2020, his father died from COVID-19. Kevin’s sister, Deborah, contracted COVID-19 and died several days later. Their brother, Warren Buzz Coughlin, died a year later from pancreatic cancer. This left Kevin alone, as the last surviving family member. In the summer of 2021, Kevin suffered a stroke and spent a month in the hospital and a skilled nursing home. This has been an absolute nightmare for Kevin to live through.
What Help Does Kevin Need?
Kevin lives alone and needs aides to help him with day-to-day living; the extensive costs are not covered by disability insurance. His house needs to be modified for wheelchair access. The $1,000 wheelchair co-pay and the cost of the 400-lb. lift are not covered by Medicare, nor are the ongoing co-pays for doctor visits and medication. Kevin can barely get by, without any of these costs, and he no longer has financial or emotional help from his late family. Hopefully, through our efforts, we can help Kevin stay independent, enjoying the company of his 2 dogs, and out of a lonely life in a nursing home.
Why does Kevin deserve help from us?
Kevin has not lived a perfect life, but who has? He admits that he was selfish and irresponsible as a younger man, but that all changed. Over the past few decades, Kevin became an ordained minister and the Director of a large non-profit ministry which he co-founded with his parents and a family friend, Luellen Fields. The ministry helped thousands of young people turn their lives around. Many of these young people were on scholarships and had months or even years of help without any cost to them or their families. Kevin was also a 9-time National and 2-time World powerlifting champion who spent years delivering weight and nutritional training to young people. Unfortunately, after Luellen and Kevin’s parents passed, Kevin could not continue to complete his duties with his 24/7 pain and disabilities.
How Can We Help?
Just imagine for a moment, being all alone and going through the challenges that Kevin has faced in the past few years and months. The depression, anxiety, and loneliness; the horrible daily chronic pain; and no family to call for emotional or financial help. We can pour out love and support to Kevin by making a donation. He has been there for so many others, now it’s time for all of us to be there for him! Please consider how you can help. All donations go directly to Kevin and can help make a difference in his life! Please know that you can make a dramatic difference. Together, we can help change, and perhaps save, a life! Thank you for being you!
