Hi, my name is Janelle and my brother and I are asking for a kidney donation for our mom Jeanine as she desperately needs it!

My mom tested positive for COVID on December 25, 2020 and life has never been the same. Contracting COVID accelerated the decline of her Kidney function and her treatment options are very limited.

Since being diagnosed with end stage kidney disease our mom has to have dialysis treatment three times a week. Dialysis treatment is very hard on her body and can only do a fraction of what your healthy kidneys do for your body every day. Some of the side effects she experiences are low blood pressure, excruciating back pain, severe headaches, weight gain ,muscle cramps, blood clots and itchy dry skin. She also endures much more while receiving the treatment.

In the summer of 2021, she attempted to gain some semblance of normalcy back in her life by participating in Peritoneal treatment. Peritoneal dialysis is a type of dialysis which uses the peritoneum in a person's abdomen as the membrane through which fluid and dissolved substances are exchanged with the blood. It is used to remove excess fluid, correct electrolyte problems, and remove toxins in those with kidney failure. It was then discovered that she had a hole in her small intestine and had to undergo emergency surgery to repair the hole.

Since then our mom has had numerous other surgeries as well as Open-heart Triple Bypass and many hospitalizations from the impact of End of Stage Kidney Disease. Just recently she had to be airlifted to Washington Medical center hospital to have two stents placed in her heart. Her latest hospitalization was to treat pneumonia which has left her very winded and unable to catch her breath.

The every day things we take for granted is a task for her and every day is a new battle she has to fight. In order for our mom to get some semblance of her life back she desperately needs a kidney.

Our mom is our hero and she needs your help please. The wait time for a new kidney is shortened if we find a living donor who has compatible blood and tissue types which will be determined during the screening process. We know it can be a big and scary decision to donate an organ, but I pray that you find it in your heart to be a Kidney transplant donor.
