Dear Family and Friends,
We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to you today with a heavy heart and request for help. Many of you know our mom ( Chandrawati Lamsal), while some may not have had the chance to meet her yet. Our mom is 60 years old and has dedicated over 25 years of her life to teaching Economics at Birendra Multiple Campus in Nepal. She has always been a beacon of kindness, love, and generosity, touching the lives of everyone she meets.
A few weeks ago, our mom started feeling unwell and decided to see a doctor for some answers. What she received, however, was news that no one is ever prepared to hear—she was diagnosed with HER-2 positive invasive breast cancer. No one in our mom's long line of family line has had any history of cancer. We are heartbroken and overwhelmed by this sudden development. While we believe the cancer may be at stage 3, we won’t know for certain until after her upcoming surgery.
As we navigate this challenging time, we are faced not only with the emotional toll of her diagnosis but also with the significant financial burden of her treatment. Our mom is living with us in Nashville, TN, and unfortunately, she does not currently have health insurance. Despite exploring various options, she has not qualified for any federal or state grants.
After consulting with the experts at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Center, we learned that there is hope. With a combination of chemotherapy, surgery, and immunotherapy, there is a strong chance that our mom can overcome this. The immunotherapy drugs specific to our mom's cancer type is not available in all countries. So we are blessed to be living in a country with such an invention. However, the treatment plan is both extensive and expensive, potentially taking up to a year and costing close to $100,000 for the immediate chemo and surgery alone.
We are reaching out to you, our cherished family and friends, to ask for your financial support. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to cover these urgent medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, will bring us closer to ensuring that our mom receives the life-saving treatment she needs. We also ask for your prayers during this difficult time, as they mean more to us than words can express.
In order to protect our mom’s privacy and mental well-being, we kindly request that this message and any associated fundraising efforts be shared only within this small, private group and not publicly on social media.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this challenging journey.
With deepest gratitude,
