Hi I’m brydie and I’m fundraising for my brother grant.

On Friday the 15th of July grant drove over 12 hours straight to come home for our pops funeral on Monday the 18th of July. Grant has recently moved and was planning on starting his own business as an electrician once he got set up. On Saturday the 16th we had all been to our local bowling club playing in a trivia fundraiser for our football club. When the bowling club closed my family and a couple extra people came back to my parents farm for a small bon fire.

Everyone was having a really nice time until an explosion happened, causing my bother to catch on fire as well as my dad. The ambulance was called and they knew straight away that grants burns were so bad that he’d need to be airlifted to Sydney and possibly my dad. Grants face, hands, ear and airways were burnt and my dads hands and his face were also burnt.

The ambulance took them to both to Forbes hospital to meet the helicopter. Grant had to then be put in an induced coma because they were concerned about the swelling in his airways. When they got to Sydney the plan was to keep him in his coma for 24 hours but they have since woken him up and he is in the icu and absolutely devastated he’ll miss our pops funeral today. He is in a lot of pain and is struggling to talk.

During the accident he has also lost his phone. This accident comes with a huge financial burden for grant as he is self employed and his injuries will put him out for weeks if not months. I know my brother is a very proud man but he is also a grateful, caring, the best uncle and one of my best friends. I’m asking if anyone can spare any change we would really appreciate it. Thank you to the people who have offered to help, sent messages and all the medical staff that have and still are treating my family.
