Please help support our friend Ronda's Battle with Cancer …

Hi Facebook friends and family. My name is Vickie Higgins. My son Brandon and I are doing a GoFundMe for a dear friend, Ronda Jean McCall-Godwin. She was our sweet little dog Pebble's mom. She has struggled with drug addiction in the past and thankfully she won that hard battle in 2017 and has been clean and sober since. But now, sadly, she was recently diagnosed with cancer. She had dealt with cancer several years ago, but this one is going to prove to be an even greater battle. She is currently unable to work and is struggling not only physically, but also mentally with manic depression. Thankfully, she has sought out help for that and is in a safe place.

She will undergo two separate surgeries and if they are successful, she will then have chemotherapy to hopefully give her more time.

She lives in a low-income apartment building and is needing assistance with basic needs like rent, utilities, and food for her and her two cats. She has two therapy kitties, Murray and Addams, that have helped to bring comfort to her during her struggles with anxiety and depression. We took in her sweet little dog Pebbles (Alias Stinky Winks) when Ronda went through her treatment for drug addiction and we loved her until she passed at age 14 in 2021. We will do the same for her two kitties if and when Ronda is unable to care for them, per her wishes.

Ronda has always been a big fan of Halloween and was a manager for a Spirit store in 2015, raking in a $1 million dollar season! She has worked many different jobs over the years and has also worked cleaning houses, and was doing so until becoming ill this last month. She is filing for disability, but unfortunately, it will take some time to get approved, if at all.

Ronda wasn’t going to let chemotherapy take her hair, so being part Native American, she had her hair cut and then her head shaved at a local hair salon. Her long braids of hair are being made into a wig for little girls fighting Alopecia. She wants all remaining funds after she passes to go to the same cause.

We are hoping the surgeries and chemo will give her more time to be with her kitties and her loved ones. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any amount of support you are able to give.
