PLEASE HELP OUR FRIEND JOSE!

Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this. John and I have decided to set up a gofundme in hopes of finding other selfless souls to help out a fellow man who is enduring incredibly hard times. No amount is too small in the act of helping to provide relief for Jose. This is a complete last ditch effort to help our friend who is feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders.

I’d like to share a little bit of Jose’s life story. It has touched us beyond measure and I’m sure that it will touch someone else’s heart as well. Jose had a point in his life where he was consumed by drugs which landed him in prison for a short time. In his short visit to prison he cleaned himself up and found a better path through life with god by his side. Before he left prison he made a pact with god that he would never go down the route of drugs ever again. He committed his life to being drug free and walked with his head held high due to his new found love and devotion to the man upstairs.

Life, as with the rest of us has beaten this man down but he has always found a way to help others and smile through the toughest of times. Unfortunately for Jose, he had found himself homeless for many years. Although he is homeless, he has still continued to work and provide for himself as best as he can, Jose has taken any odd and end jobs and he found a passion for cleaning boats and fishing. Some clients would treat him to a beautiful day of fishing after he finished his jobs because they knew that’s all he loves in this world.

If  you’ve ever been to Sandsprit Park in Stuart, FL then you have seen or spoken to Jose AKA “The Snook Slayer”. The park has become his home, his place of work, and the opportunity to live out his one passion in this world, fishing.

In 2019 Jose received dreadful news. He has advanced stages of colon cancer. He has now found himself in a very dark place. Jose has beenliving in a motel due to assistance from a church who has helped him previously. They were able to cover the cost for a while but time is running out and he cannot afford to pay to stay in a motel which will have him back on the streets again come the end of January. He has been eating ramen noodles and is not even able to get the proper nutrients to at least help him feel a little bit better. He is not able to work for more than a few hours before the exhaustion and pain starts to kick in. If he cannot work, he cannot afford any kind of shelter or food.

Jose is unfortunately dying of his colon cancer and all we want to be able to do is get a roof over his head, good nutritious food in his belly and peace of mind that he can live out his last days without financial worry.

As we’ve said before, no amount is too small and even if it is reposting, sharing and PRAYING please do as much as you can as John and I are doing what we can as well to give him better days.

Our friend Jose does not have any family that he can lean on. Some of the people at Sandsprit including John who has been in Jose’s life for 8 years have become his family and we are justhoping to provide our friend with some support. If you made it this far, we really appreciate you reading and god bless you.
