Please help our friend Danny rebuild his home!

We are fundraising to help our friend Danny rebuild his home and replace some of his belongings!

Danny was living on his 27ft river cruiser, which he had been renovating, before it tragically sank on Wednesday 8th January, taking with it everything he owns! He woke to a huge amount of water in the boat and had to immediately escape without being able to rescue anything before it sank.

Aside from some clothes which he has managed to salvage, he has pretty much nothing and currently no home. Thanks to friends, he has found some temporary accommodation, but we are now trying to find funds so he can reclaim the boat and get it liveable once again as quickly as possible.

Sadly, some of what he has lost is of sentimental value and irreplaceable but a great deal was vital to the functional living on the boat- batteries, solar chargers and the engine is also ruined. The interior will need to be gutted and refitted, which includes the oven, units mattress etc. He also lost laptops, his phone and other electronics, essential for work and expensive to replace.

We asked Danny to give us an approximate idea of the cost of the damage:

Engine - £2500

Oven, sink, units - £500

Mac laptop - £1000

DJ Mixer - £300

Batteries - £500

Also- charger, solar controllers, switchboard, fuse box lighting, diesel heater, bluetooth speaker, headphones and more...

There is lots to try to recover and replace and much of his remaining money has been used up on hiring kit and personelle to raise the boat so any contributions to help him get back on his feet and create a liveable home once again would be very much appreciated.
