We are reaching out to your generous hearts for our dear friend and batch mate Mel Bornales.   The once very lively, cheerful and energetic Mel that we know has been battling pulmonary hypertension for 13 years now.  She has gone through a lot of treatments and had been subjected to medication trials, all of which had taken so much toll on her overall health.   Mel had to prematurely retire and bid ICU nursing goodbye a year ago because her situation would not allow her to get exposed to Covid and that her health has taken the worse turn.     She has recently gone through a battery of tests and evaluation at Stanford Hospital so she could be placed on the list for lung transplant .  Her heart has worked so hard all these years causing it to slowly fail making her a candidate for heart transplant as well..  
Mel tries to remain positive and strong for her family but her financial challenges dampens whatever little ounce of hope she's got.    Your generosity will be greatly appreciated.   You can also directly contact Mel via her FB account.
