Please help our employees

My name is Sharon Garro. For 26 years I had the privilege of owning Key Pizza in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I have raised my children at Key and have watched my loyal customers grow from small children into mothers and fathers themselves. I took pride in preparing and delivering delicious food to the neighborhood. There are 11 long-time employees that are like family to me, and they are a huge reason for the success behind my business.

On September 14, 2022, Key Pizza and the apartments above collapsed into a pile of rubble. Not only was my business destroyed, a business I spent over half of my life building, but the jobs of my 11 loyal employees were destroyed as well.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation, as there was “construction” being performed in an empty lot adjacent to Key Pizza at the time of the catastrophe.

We are committed to rebuilding and reopening. However, until that happens, I am worried about my 11 workers who are now unemployed through no fault of their own. These people have homes and families to support.

For all the dedication my staff has shown to me over the years, I would love nothing more than to support them at this difficult time. Please consider making a donation to assist me in this endeavor. Any money raised will be split evenly between my 11 employees: Diego, Ulises, Luis, Oscar, Ezequiel, Kayla, Eric, Ariel, Oscar C., Osman and Nicole.
