LOVE for Christina Forsyth & Her Dear Family

Spende geschützt

My name is Kathlean Kent, and I am  helping my sister, Susie Dohman, start this GOFUNDME for our dear friends, Gary and Christina Forsyth. Please know that we are so thankful for the huge army of friends, clients, acquaintances and family that have expressed such an outpouring of concern and LOVE for Christina's husband Gary, and for her and their sweet family during this extremely challenging time.

Gary Forsyth, was driving to work at 5:45 am on December 16, 2019. He was in the middle lane of C470 going about 40 mph with the flow of traffic. The roads were slippery because a light snow had fallen overnight. It was still dark outside. Suddenly,  Gary saw brake lights from cars on his left and right, but none in front. His headlights suddenly shone on the reflectors of a tractor trailer that was at a standstill right in front of him due to a rollover accident.  Gary hit his brakes and slid hard into the back of that truck.

Gary's airbag did not deploy, and his head slammed onto the steering wheel.   He immediately felt severe pain in his back. Police cars were already on scene because of the rollover accident, so when Gary called 911 firemen pryed open his door, and he was  immediately ambulanced to St. Anthony’s. Gary had a fracture in his lower spine and a severe concussion. His forehead had a baseball sized contusion. He was in that hospital for four days, where they tried to manage his pain.

Gary was transferred to and remains in a rehab, as of this writing. As you might imagine, the pain from his injuries is excruciating, and he continues to struggle with pain management. With help, Gary can handle short intervals of sitting up.  He also needs a back brace to stand up, and again with help, he can walk short distances.

Gary's rehabilitation will take hard work, patience and time. His prognosis is not clear.  We do not know the the long term effects these injuries may/may not have on Gary.
The doctors just cannot give us those answers yet.

As many of you know, Gary and Christina are both extremely hard working, creative individuals and have always been self-employed. Their amazing daughter,  Elissa, is currently a Senior at CSU, majoring in Biomedical Science. They are so proud of her! She has been on the Deans List every year, and was even asked to teach part of her anatomy class by her professor.

This very talented and artistic family has also been lovingly renovating their home in Indian Hills for many years.  Surrounded by their many farm animals and found animals, it is a joyful, magical place!  Sadly, however,  it is not a safe environment for Gary's needs during his rehabilitation.

We are all  praying that Gary will be able to return to his active lifestyle as soon as possible.  Please know that this lovely family is so grateful for dear friends who have given them their love and support and PRAYERS, which they cherish at this time of hardship!

Susie and I are reaching out to all of you today to keep everyone involved in Gary's journey towards healing, as well as his family's.  We are also asking for help with their expenses for medical bills, long term rehab and other daunting  unknowns. As well, monthly expenses like the mortgage, electric and water bills still need to be paid ... but for now, as a single income family instead of two people working full time.  Christina also needs help caring for her husband as he recovers, and as she continues to work. She wants to be by Gary's side as much as possible, but help from others will be needed to allow her to do that. Their many pets also need looked after,  since she is now gone from home for longer periods at a time.

We hope that everyone will please continue to help support the Forsyth Family in any way that you can.  Please also share with friends, asking them to help if they are able.

We sincerely thank you all for your LOVE, PRAYERS, Kindness, Support and HEALING for this very special family!
