Dear beloved Friends, Neighbors and Community,
We come to you with heavy hearts and humility as we share the news about our father, friend and beloved community member Kevin who recently endured a life-altering accident while visiting friends in Colorado. In a freak accident resulting in a fall of over 10 feet into a rocky ravine, Kevin sustained catastrophic injuries.
With multiple fractures in his thoracic vertebrae, a burst fracture at L1 with a subdural hematoma damaging his spinal cord, seven broken ribs, a severe head laceration, a brain bleed, and a mild traumatic brain injury, Kevin endured an extensive five-hour spine surgery immediately after the incident. There were two very traumatic days where we were unsure about him living or not. He is stable, but his battle is far from over.
As he begins his healing journey at St Mary's in Colorado, he will soon need to transfer to a specialized spinal rehabilitation facility for a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks, for inpatient physical therapy. Following that, his recovery journey will likely demand 12 to 18 months of intensive therapy and care.
This sudden emergency has upended our entire family. With all of us flying to Colorado in a frantic effort to secure housing, transportation, food, and essentials while navigating the challenging realities of hospital life. To provide a safe transition home after rehab is finished, it may require extensive and costly renovations to make our family home livable for Kevin for the potential short term and maybe long term.
This is why we are reaching out for your help; Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly to supporting the following:
- Medical bills
 - Temporary housing near the rehabilitation hospital
 - Travel and living expenses as we rally around Kevin throughout his healing journey
 - Long-term home modifications/renovations to our current home or potential permanent relocation to a more accessible home
 - Lost wages to cover their daily costs of living
 - Travel and living expenses as we rally around Kevin throughout his healing journey

Our goal is to give Kevin the best possible chance at recovery, nurturing the hope of seeing him walk again and live life fully, while allowing us the ability to support him along the way.
We deeply thank you for your love, support, and generosity during this unimaginable time. Your kindness means the world to us and we are so humble by this vulnerable ask.
With gratitude,
His loving children: Zach, Victoria, Elise, & Jory
