Help our Corgi receive long term Orthopedic Care

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mandi and we have a 2yr old male Corgi named Moose.

A couple days ago, we were vacuuming and Moose was afraid of the vacuum and jumped off of his favorite recliner and his little leg got stuck in the foot rest portion of the recliner, and he cannot walk..

My husband and I brought Moose to an Urgentcare and he had X-rays done, and his leg is splinted, and he is on pain medications. We waited 3 hours and were scared that our worst fear would come true… and it did.

Unfortunately, Moose injured his right front leg and was diagnosed with ‘Carpal Hypertension’ and requires orthopedic surgery as it will not heal on its own, suspected ligament injury.

The veterinarian consulted with an Orthopedic doctor that they refer us to, and the Orthopedic doctor gave us an estimate of $6,000-$8,000…

I just gave birth to our second child 6 months ago, and we also have a 10 year old little girl who is completely devastated that her little dog is hurt and cannot play. She’s really sad that we cannot take Moose on walks..

I never like to ask for help, but in this situation we just can’t afford $8,000 at this moment… I decided to create this for $6,000 as I don’t want to ask for the surgery’s entire cost as I already feel bad enough.

We live in Wisconsin and the Urgentcare that gave us this estimate from the Orthopedic Doctor is called Frontier Urgentcare. We were there until 9pm that night.

Moose is over weight (50lbs), and I feel bad enough because of it, but with him being over weight, he is in a great deal of pain as it’s preventing him from putting weight on his leg at all.

All Moose wants is to play with his German Shepherd sister, and his little humans… he whimpers and yelps.. I hand feed him, I bring his water up to his mouth, and we carry him outside to go potty.

He is currently in a splint, $699, and it needs to be removed weekly and I am trying my best to learn how to splint as we just can’t afford the surgery as of current.

I know times are rough, financing is out of the question with the high rates, and $8,000 is just a lot for us. I regret not having pet insurance but I never thought this would happen to a young 2yr old pup..Please only donate if you truly can. I can’t tell you how appreciative our family is. It means the world…

Our pups just want to be playful pups. Our German Shepherd Kimber doesn’t understand why she can’t play with her little brother. I have receipts and the doctors diagnoses if requested. This picture was taken the night of the vets visit.

He will need long-term orthopedic care.
