Please Help Our Cat Ricky Martin
Donation protected
Hi, this is Jen & Scott. Some of you are friends and family, and some of you know us from the cat rescue community. I never thought I would need to ask for help for myself, but here I am. I am humbly asking for your help.
Those of you who have met Ricky Martin know how special he is. He's the kindest, most gentle kitty who loves everyone he meets. You can check him out on his own IG @Ricky_Is_Sexeh. He has helped us with our animal rescue by socializing feral cats and kittens. His nickname is Uncle Ricky. Our kids and other cats will be devastated to lose him.
Ricky is one of our original foster fails, and has been our baby for 9 amazing years. He suddenly got very sick on Saturday, not eating, acting lethargic and hiding. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday after seeing his regular vet on Saturday and getting bad blood test results. We're trying to treat him and get to the bottom of what's causing this. Right now, he's very anemic and getting blood transifusions. To complicate matters, he has some fluid around his heart. He's been getting 'round-the-clock care and is in the best hands. However, it's very costly and we can not afford to continue with his treatment without some financial help. I hate to ask for this, but the only other option is to say goodbye. We are NOT ready for this! Our doctors believe we're getting closer to figuring this out but he needs more time to let the medications start working and the tests to come back. They also believe it's not his time and have hope. They are looking into discounts for us (not likely to happen) and we've taken out extra credit. But in a nutshell, that's more hospitalization than we cannot afford. The estimate was for over $12k and we've already paid some. I'm happy to share copies of the vet bills upon request.
Please share if you cannot contribute. And most of all, please send him positive vibes, love and light. He deserves a fighting chance. Any leftover funds we collect will be donated to those who cannot afford emergency pet care.
