Help Zach for Heart Transplant & Medical bills
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” -Romans 12:12
If you come across this post, we only ask if you could spare a few minutes of your time and please read this. We are immensely grateful and thankful for anyone who does read this and that may share with others.
On July 5th, 2021, a very scary and traumatic event occurred that would affect so many people. At the very young age of only 24 years-old, a special person that means the world to so many, suffered a severe heart attack. The name of this special man that I am speaking about is Zachary Maffra.
Zachary was born with a heart condition. By the age of 3 years-old, he had to undergo a heart ablation procedure, and again when he was 9 years-old. Doctors had told his mother that he wouldn’t suffer from anymore complications as he got older, but were unfortunately wrong.
Since having his heart attack, Zachary has gone through so much. He’s been in an induced coma for 3 weeks, he’s been transported to multiple hospitals, he has been on a ventilator, he has underwent multiple procedures to try to save his heart, and he has suffered through temporary lung failure, kidney failure, and liver failure.
Today, Zach is currently on dialysis and has a device on his heart called a BiVAD. The device is a pump designed to help your heart function better when both the right and left pumping chambers of your heart are failing. Right now Zach is at the top of the transplant list for a new heart.
To those of you who are reading this, Zachary may be just another person in this world… but to the ones that know him and are close with him, he is SO MUCH MORE! He is the world’s greatest Son that any Mother could ask for, He is the best big brother any sibling could ever want, and He is the most loyal and loving friend anybody on this Earth could ever dream of having! Most importantly though…. Zachary is nothing less than one of God’s greatest creations that so many of us are blessed to have in our lives!
It does not go without saying, this journey has been a physical, mental, and emotional toll for Zachs family and close friends, as well as a financial toll too. Right now Zachary’s mother is doing what she can to financially prepare for when Zach is able to have a transplant. Although she does have the support from Zachs family and close friends, help is still needed. So we ask you today, if you can please help in any way possible! Nothing is too big or too small. We are so blessed and grateful for those who have read this, who will share it, who will pray for our Zachary, and who can help us to save our beloved Zachary! God bless you all!
“And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” -1 Corinthians 13:13
