Please help our beautiful Stein family…

It’s with a completely broken and heavy heart that we share the news that our beautiful, radiant, cherished Erin passed away peacefully yesterday morning, Christmas Day, at the Gold Coast Hospital.

Erin’s strength in the very short 6 weeks since her diagnosis has been nothing short of inspiring. She fought hard for herself but also for everyone around her. She kept everyone strong. Her journey, the one we were all prepared to be on with her, - one of hope, optimism and medical advancements - has been taken from her far too soon. And we’re all beyond devastated that we’ve lost our precious girl this soon

Erin lit up a room with her charm, cheeky sense of humour, and her infectious laugh. She had a zest for life unmatched by anyone else we’ve met and knew how to set the bar in all that she achieved and accomplished. Her ‘network’ stretches far and wide and she is loved so much by so many… it’s fair to say Erin was everyone’s MVP and she’ll be so sorely missed by all that had the honour of knowing her.

Our treasured friend was a truly devoted mumma to her gorgeous babies, Archer and Indigo. And our hearts break a million times over for her husband - and rock - Andy, beautiful mum Jo and dedicated sister-in-law Ilsa as they come to terms with this cruel reality and manage this unimaginable pain and grief. They all deserved more than this and the void Erin leaves in us all highlights the uniqueness and amazingness of her being. She was one a kind, and someone that so many aspired to be just like.

Our much-loved era of our favourite Swifty-mum has come to an end but our memories will remain forever etched into our hearts. Fly high forever, our beautiful friend ❤️ we love you xxx

Please keep giving to support this family and Erin’s wishes x

The below was written only 5 short but precious days ago. It tells the story of Erin’s diagnosis and we’ve decided to keep it on this page for anyone who didn’t learn of her journey sooner, or know what an incredibly brave and beautiful person she was prior to her peaceful passing. We’ll miss her so much x

—————————

In November, our beautiful, fun-loving, life-of-the-party, smiley, gorgeous Erin was diagnosed with a stage 4 malignant and inoperable brain tumor (GBM).

The first phase of Erin’s treatment has started, and she’s begun chemoradiotherapy, requiring daily (Monday to Friday) radiation treatment for 6 weeks, and chemo medication (6 months). Once we understand how successful her treatment course has been, the future phases of this journey will become clearer, and we’ll know if overseas travel and treatment is required. Throughout her diagnosis Erin has remained incredibly strong and resilient. She’s responding well to treatment so far, and learning to adapt to life in the slow lane for a little while… not as much “burning rubber” as we all know her well for.

Understandably this devastating diagnosis has impacted the Stein’s day-to-day family life. Erin is no longer working, and Andy has resigned from the job he loved to become full-time carer for his darling girl and their beautiful twinnies, aged 10. Erin is an incredible mum, absolutely dedicated and so very proud of her ‘babies’. They don’t know the full extent of their precious mummy’s battle yet but are adapting to the changes they see in Erin; patiently waiting for her to get better with the medication she’s receiving. Being less dependable for their everyday is heartbreaking for Erin. She can no longer drive so the kids are completely dependent on Daddy for travel (and of course so many loved ones that have supported thus far). Unfortunately, Erin is also unable to be left alone which is another layer of difficulties the family are experiencing.

Having worked in disability employment services most of her career, Erin has always been about helping others. She’s changed so many lives and had a profound impact across the disability sector. She’s selfless, kind, caring, thoughtful and puts everyone else first. Asking for help does not come naturally to Erin, nor to her wonderful husband Andy, therefore, to alleviate some of the financial burden they’re bound to face as they navigate the uncertain road ahead, we have set up this page. Put simply, with no work leave entitlements and the Centrelink payments they are hopefully about to start receiving as a family are far less than what this hardworking couple would have earnt, had their path not taken this turn.

We know there are many people that have been blessed to share fun times, a giggle, rose wine(s!) and special memories with our incredible Erin; from life-long friends to close acquaintances. It’s fair to say she leaves an imprint on us all after every conversation <3

If you’re able to help out our dearest Stein family, we’ll be forever grateful. We’ll provide regular updates here on Erin’s progress.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts xxx
