Hi, my name is Lynn. I am Mommy to a beautiful Akita named Keira. She is a wonderful dog, and all that know her know how special she is and how much she means to my children and me. Late Sunday night, 09/11/22, Keira became very ill out of nowhere. I was up with her all night as she suffered. I took her to the emergency vet early Monday morning and was advised that Keira had a collapsed lung. Her chest cavity was filled with air and she was struggling to breathe. From there, I took her to another specialist for further treatment. She is currently inpatient and chest tubes have been placed to remove the air from her chest cavity to allow her to breathe. She is facing surgery to repair the damage to her lungs that caused the issue. I have already put out over $10,000 in care and we are still in the beginning stages. I will not and can not lay my dog to rest when the Doctor tells me she is in great health besides what is going on with her lungs (which is fixable). Anyone who knows me knows I will not and have never asked for assistance. It is not in my nature but this time, I have no choice but to ask for help to save my baby girl. I am embarrassed and humbled. If anyone has the means to help out, it will be greatly appreciated. If not, could you please say a prayer? That is equally important. I will pay it forward. God Bless.
