Hi everyone, thank you for taking a moment to read our little boy Bek Penwell's story. We really never imagined we would ever have to write anything like this in our lives as parents. We are unsure where to start but we are here because of his current medical condition. Bek is 3 and there's a possible chance he's going to be fighting for his life for years to come but we are hopeful he will recover. His white blood cell count is high, his red blood cells and platelets are extremely low. We live on Guam and his blood work had to be sent to a lab in Hawaii for testing. So we don't have an exact diagnosis yet but they are telling us to expect the worst. Some of the things we have heard could be possible are lymphoma or leukemia or a syndrome called chediak-higashi. We've been told that our son will need treatments, things like chemo and blood transfusion.
We are genuinely asking for help to get our little man to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. A place where we believe we can care for our son to the best of our abilities. Any funds donated will be used for our trip to the hospital, flight nurse and medical care.
Any amount you're willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated, and if you aren't able to contribute money at this time, a share to friends and family would mean the world to us as well.
