Hi Everyone,

My name is Kimberley and I am from Washington State. I am a single mom of six children with three of them out on their own and the youngest three live at home with me. The last several months have been a financial struggle. Early in the year I had surgery and , unfortunately, there were some unforeseen complications, which made it impossible for me to return to work for a couple of months. In the spring, my youngest child began experiencing a healthcare scare of their own, which lead to months of testing and a lot of unanswered questions. As fall arrived, our 4-year-old cat, Hennessey, became ill and needed to have emergency surgery to remove a blockage. The surgery caused sepsis and she passed away a couple of weeks later. Our Yorkie, Chewbacca, then became ill and she passed away a week and a half after Hennessey. These medical emergencies have caused not only an emotional strain, but an immense financial burden. To pay for family medical concerns, pet emergencies, and necessary bills, I decided to forgo paying some of our rent and have now gotten behind and face homelessness. I recently received a 30-day notice to pay or vacate. The total that I need to pay is $15,936.85. I have attempted to apply for loans through my bank and credit union, but my application was denied. I have called 211, but I do not qualify for any state or federal assistance. I have received some funds from my paycheck and Online loans (which have caused me to take on more debt) and have a little over $7,000 saved. To avoid eviction, I am seeking a donation of $9,000.
