My name is Jeremy, I am a doctor from Australia and i'm helping fundraise for a dear friend in Gaza.

Sami Mostafa Awawda is a nurse who works in the operating theatres in Gaza. I met this inspirational man during my time providing humanitarian medical support at the Shahada al Aqsa hospital. Sami and his family are from the north and like so many are displaced and living in very difficult (and worsening) conditions. To make matters worse, his family home has been completely destroyed.

Despite the challenges he faces daily, he works tirelessly to help his people in the operating theatres, emergency rooms, and anywhere else that his skills can be put to use. He has never given up hope and never missed the opportunity to work to support his friends, family and colleagues. He has also supported many aid groups who have entered Gaza to provide humanitarian support (he is not affiliated to any).

Like so many, all he wants is an end to fighting and to rebuild for himself and his family.

Any support that can be given will go to building a new home and a new life for this amazing human and his family.
