Please help Nova after this horrific dog attack

Hi, my name is Ivan, and I am fundraising for my beautiful baby girl, Nova, after she was violently attacked by a pit bull. She had to be rushed to an emergency veterinary hospital for reconstructive surgery on her abdomen.

Nova was adopted on December 30 2024 when she was only 5 months old in North Carolina. From the moment I saw her, I completely fell in love with her. It felt like she touched my soul with her tiny paws. Since then, we have become inseparable.

Nova loves going on walks and meeting other dogs. She can’t get enough of teddy bears and soft toys. She always carries them around everywhere she goes. She also loves her little sister, Salem, and misses her so much.

On August 2 2026, Nova and I went for one of our usual walks because she gets so excited every time she hears that it’s time to go outside. After we finished our 2 mile walk and arrived back at our apartment, a pit bull suddenly came out of nowhere and attacked her.

I tried my best to protect Nova and stop the attack, but unfortunately, it happened too quickly. The pit bull’s bite locked onto her abdomen, and Nova screamed in pain. The owner eventually gained control of the dog, but then left the scene without apologizing or exchanging any information.

I was completely shocked and heartbroken by what happened.

I rushed Nova to an emergency veterinarian. Her wound was open and bleeding, and she suffered a serious abdominal injury. The veterinarian told me Nova was very lucky because the bite did not damage her internal organs or ribs.

Her emergency surgery cost $2,070.96, which is more than I can afford right now. I am asking for help for this sweet girl while she continues her recovery.

I am working to identify the owner of the pit bull and will do everything I can to seek justice for Nova. It is heartbreaking and unacceptable that the owner left after such a serious attack.

I am doing everything I can to care for Nova while also dealing with the emotional stress and unexpected medical expenses. All donations will go directly toward Nova’s veterinary bills, medications, and recovery care.
