We are reaching out on behalf of our Mom/ Nonnie, over the weekend tragedy struck as they have suffered a devastating loss of life and home. Through the grace of God it was a daytime catastrophe, Mom/ Nonnie and John are safe due to running errands when it occurred. The consuming fire and water damage have decimated virtually everything. Tragically, their kitties, Gabi and Roxy were unable to evacuate. Gabi and Roxy have been tended to and buried during a small gathering of support over the weekend.

They now face the unimaginable challenge of starting over. Red Cross has only been able to provide a couple nights of motel shelter; which have already been used. The insurance claim is in the works, however fire recovery and insurance investigation processes are not speedy remedies. They tend to linger beyond personal finance availability and commonly never bring fire survivors to a place even remotely close to being "made whole" again.

Mom/ Nonnie has dedicated her life to supporting and guiding those around her, family, friends, students with special needs and through her psychology practice. Often times her services were provided on a sliding scale to make her help and support readily available based on need regardless of financial position. Through her integrity, compassion, empathic and nurturing approach, she is known as a generous soul who always goes above and beyond for others. Literally and figuratively, as she drove to multiple counties for appointments, prior to telemedicine that is now mainstream. It’s our turn to rally around them in their time of need!

We are asking for help as they begin the long and slow process of recovering. Mom/ Nonnie and John will need help rebuilding their lives, from finding temporary housing, replacing essential items (seasonally appropriate clothes, hygiene, food, etc) and eventually rebuilding their home. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward helping them recover and provide some stability and comforting support during this disastrous time; especially as they head into to fall and winter.

Any support, whether through prayer, donation or simply sharing this post, would mean the world to us right now. Mom/ Nonnie has stood by our community neighbors through their toughest moments, now it's our turn to stand by Mom/ Nonnie and John to return the support and breathing room to find guidance and direction.
