Please help Niki fight Stage 2 Breast Cancer

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read Niki's story and joining her fight to beat Breast Cancer. It really means the absolute world to us all.

For those of you who don't know Niki, allow us to introduce her;

Niki is a 31-year-old mother to two young boys Hyde (7) & Marrow (4), and married to her high school sweetheart, Dave. She is a champion napper, dog-obsessed, astrology enthusiast, reality tv binger, and long-time art appreciator.

Niki is the sole income provider for her little family. The cost of her surgeries, treatments, medications, and the time she's needed to take off of work has greatly impacted their lives financially.

Niki's Story

Niki discovered a grape-sized lump in her left breast on October 17th, 2022. She scheduled a mammogram appointment on October 19th, where two lumps were revealed and by October 24th, she had a biopsy performed.

On October 27th, just 10 days after the lump was discovered, she was officially diagnosed with Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer. The biopsy also revealed she was triple positive: ER-positive, PR-positive; and HER2-positive; all of which can cause the cancer cells to grow more rapidly.

After some deliberation on whether she would begin chemotherapy or undergo surgery, her medical team suggested a total double mastectomy would be the first step in her battle.

On October 1st, 2022, Niki was admitted to undergo the double mastectomy and some reconstruction which lasted approximately 7 hours. After 2 days in the ICU she was released from the hospital to begin healing at home over the next few weeks.

Based on the results of her surgery, Niki and her medical team are still deciding on the best course of action for her upcoming chemotherapy treatments. We will provide updates here as soon as the next steps have been determined.
