Please help Nicolette raise $ for her service dog

When Nicolette was 7 years old, she was diagnosed with Epilepsy. It was a terrifying time for us all. The doctors at CHOP told us she could outgrow her seizure disorder when she was a teen. We held on to that hope for many years. When she became a teen, she started having more seizures, and they were more intense. We switched neurologists to DuPont Nemours, and after many, many EEG’s, different medicines and doses, it was discovered that she had drug resistant Epilepsy. That means that her current medicine does help, but they will never stop all of her seizures. Obviously this information was very difficult for her to hear. The thought of having seizures for the rest of her life was extremely scary. Her neurologist then mentioned about getting a service dog. She said it can help with anxiety and depression which can trigger seizures, but they are also trained to break a fall from a seizure, notify someone if she’s having a seizure, some can dial 911, and it will just give Nicolette the confidence and independence that she will need to go away to college and be on her own. So we were set up with a wonderful organization called Epilepsy Fighters.
Nicolette was their chosen candidate for a service dog. They find a dog for you, and raise money for the transfer, and some training sessions. We are so grateful for everything that this organization is doing for her. We just need to raise money for the extensive training. As you can probably imagine, the training can be expensive. It takes approximately 2 years to train the dog properly. If you are able to help Nicolette out, we would be incredibly grateful. Every little bit counts! Thank you for taking the time to read her story
