On August 14, 2009, Our sister/mother/daughter/niece Nicole was in a devastating car accident when she lost control of her car on the freeway which threw her car off a cliff. She was pronounced dead on the scene & later showed signs of fighting for her life & by a miracle she was saved. She suffered many injuries including a broken neck & severed spinal cord which caused her to be a quadriplegic- paralyzed from the neck down, a completely dislocated jaw, shattered elbows & even a dislocated shoulder that was never repaired. She was in a medically induced coma & once she woke from could not speak for weeks, we were told she might not be able to again, but she got her voice back. Needless to say, she lives in a tremendous amount of pain but she rarely complains about it at all. During these last 10 yrs, shes also endured many stays in the ICU almost losing her life multiple times, spent many holidays hospitalized.

SSI payments stopped 2 years ago once she was entered into a nursing facility where she is by far the youngest patient. She does not belong there & we hope to get her back to living independently as she had for about 7 years prior.
