Please help Neville! Our area had a terrible wind storm and we have been out of power for 2 days now - We were getting up to go outside to use the bathroom and is now unable to walk without zigzagging and falling.
I called on-call services and they told me to bring him in first thing in the morning. I brought him to his local ASAP in the morning when they opened. His local veterinarian believes it is disk issue in his neck. His local veterinarian has tried intravenous fluids and intravenous steroids with no improvement noted.
He now needs to be sent to the emergency room for a CT scan and will need surgery to fix this, which is 2.5 hours away from home. This was an unplanned expense for 2020!!!
THIS URGENT!!!!!
A CT scan is very pricey then following surgical repair!!
He is the sweetest country-dachshund you will ever meet and has no mean bone in his body. He is truly a miracle and has helped his owner emotionally since
she has had him since he was 3 years old! He still is full of life at 10 years old!! Neville and I need to have more summers & car rides together!!!!
Please help Neville to recovery !!!
Also, we need positive thoughts and prayers!!!!
>>>>Neville passed away November 24, 2023 at age 13 (almost 14). I adopted him at age 3 when I bought his house and the previous owners didn’t want him. He had a slew of health issues - rotten teeth with extractions - the veterinarian left the roots in his mouth (unbeknown to Neville and I) and that led us to ongoing health issues …. Pneumonia, Chronic Rhinitis and Lymphoplasmacytic Rhinitis until the new vet removed the rotten roots. After that, he was on long term medications because of the extensive nasal damage it caused. Later on, at age 10, he experienced cervical IVDD with front leg paralysis. He needed surgery to walk again. After surgery, he had a mass growing near the neck incision….. came to discover that the surgeon nicked a lipoma in his neck which caused it to lose its blood and became growingly necrotic. A general surgeon had to remove it- he had a short term Jackson Pratt drain and he did recover. On and off he dealt with chronic bronchitis and pneumonia related to the damage from the dental mishap. Almost 3 years later, he passed away unexpectedly. Broke my heart. He was my soulmate. I laid with him for a few days until I was ready to
bring him to the crematory. This GfM was created for his iVDD, surgery, and post ivdd mass surgery.
