*** Update from Nat ***
Thank you to each and everyone of you for your donations. I am so overwhelmed by your generosity, and cannot put into words just how grateful I am.
I am happy to report that Alex is recovering really well. His strength and humour are keeping us all entertained and he’ll likely make a gradual return to school over the coming weeks. I’m extremely proud of how he’s handling so much at such a young age.
Your ongoing generosity will undoubtedly ease the current and future financial burden, and allow us to focus on recovery.
Thank you again ❤️

Thank you for stopping by.
I have created this GoFundMe with consent from my dear friend Nat, in the hopes of raising some much needed funds that will directly assist Nat and her beloved 14 year old son, Alex, as they navigate through uncertainty and recovery.
Background
In Dec 2023, Alex began experiencing seizures for the first time in his life. He was soon after admitted to the Sydney Children's Hospital, where an MRI and CT scan revealed the unthinkable - a brain tumour, which required immediate removal. Soon after, Alex underwent a craniotomy in the hopes of removing the tumour. Thankfully, Alex made it through the surgery and began the recovery process, although a follow-up MRI showed pieces of the tumour remained.
Over the past 12 months, Alex has remained seizure free, although not without the help of medical treatment. In late January this year, Alex unfortunately fell victim to the seizures once again, having multiple within the space of 48 hours, and ending up hospitalised once again. Alex's medical team conducted a second craniotomy, but unfortunately were unsuccessful in removing all remaining pieces of tumour. The difficult decision was made to conduct a third craniotomy only two days later, and thankfully Alex's most recent MRI returned with no residual tumour.
Where to from here?
Now, we wait. Whilst the specialists were hopeful that the tumour was causing the seizures, they remain uncertain and must monitor Alex for an indefinite period of time. Nat, has therefore had to relocate from Canberra to Sydney once again to help care for her son until further notice. To make matters worse, Nat’s responsibility to contribute to Alex's out-of-pocket medical costs, ongoing living expenses, temporary accommodation, food bills etc., are exorbitant, and unsustainable for her.
Nat is a devoted mother to her three boys, and has given up everything to care for her son. I know Nat would be immensely appreciative of any donation, great or small. She is certainly not one to ask for help, but as she faces this very difficult and unprecedented situation for the second time in 12 months, she needs all the help she can get.
If you aren't in a position to donate, may I please ask that you share this page. Every cent counts, and if we all band together, I have no doubt that both Nat and Alex will be forever grateful for your support.
Thank you so much.
