Please Help My Uncle Survive Covid!

Donation protected

Hi everyone -

Below is a picture of me, my mom, my grandfather and all my uncles. My mom has 5 brothers and David, the youngest brother, is the man standing next to me in the black suit. He is an uncle, a brother, a father, and a grandfather. Like so many out there, he has Covid-19 which progressed to pneumonia. Unfortunately, no doctors in his area were courageous enough to prescribe him any theraputic treatments to help him fight this virus. Instead, his condition worsed and he ended up in the hospital.

Once in the hospital, doctors gave him oxygen therapy. After a few days, they began giving him steroids and antibiotics for the pneumonia. His conditon continued to decline to where he was put on 9L max O2 flow. Doctors transferred him to the ICU and increased his O2 to 15 L max flow. Basically, it is like shoving a hose up his nose and turning on maximum strength, but it is O2 rather than water. My Uncle David called me when his ICU doctor came in. The doctor told me that my uncle needed to go on a ventilator immediately. The doctor told me that if he did not go on the ventilater the he had 100% chance of dying, but if he went on the vent then he would have 70% chance of living.

The same day my uncle went into ICU, his daughter had her second child - David's 5th grandchild. We are praying that my uncle will be able to meet the new addition to his family soon. However, the doctors are only giving him one choice - ventilator or no ventilator. We have seen the news and watched this virus, or the lack of treating this virus, ravage this country and the world. We trust in God to answer prayers, but we realize it is our obligation to fight for his life, to advocate for his life. It is so hard to surrender to one course of treatment that has proven to be unreliable when we know that there are other possible treatments available, but the doctors refuse to allow us to try.

My Uncle David has lots of family that love him, are praying for him, and advocating for him. David's oldest brother, my Uncle Tom (a respiratory therapist), and Tom's son, Kerry (a nurse), flew out to Colorado from TN to advocate for David. David's son, Brandon, flew out to CO from CA, to help make decisions for my his dad. They are all pictured above. Everyone has had to take time away from their families and their jobs to support my Uncle David. Because of their sacrifice and diligence, my uncle has been allowed visitors in ICU. Doctors now know that our family will not allow doctors to dismiss David or his concerns so easily. Although we have been successful in delaying the ventilator, we have not been successful in persuading the ICU doctor to try IV vitamins, ivermectin, monoclonal antibodies, or any other proven treatment.

Thankfully, my Uncle Tom and cousin Kerry have been able to connect with a local doctor that is willing to prescribe all the necessary treatments. We are now at the point where we need to get a lawyer to help persuade the ICU doctor and hospital to allow my uncle to be treated. If the ICU doctor is correct, we don't have much to lose. Why would a doctor, or hospital, refuse to try uncoventional methods to save a person's life? In order to save my uncle's life, we need help! We have done everything we can logistically to get the ball rolling, but we need funds. We need money to pay for David's housing and other bills. We need money to help pay for the life saving medical treatments. And, we need money to retain the lawyer! This particular lawyer has already won three similar cases. All three patients were on ventilators knocking on death's door. All three patients's families fough back and won. All three patients not only survived, but their health completely turned around as soon as treatment began!

Our goal is significant, but any small amount can help. Our fight is for my Uncle David, but it is a fight for anyone who is faced with similar circumstances. We can not give up on our loved ones simply because the government health organization tells us to.

Thank you for your kind gifts! If you are unable to support our cause, we ask that you please pray for David's recovery and healing. We ask you to pray to soft the hearts of the ICU doctor and the hosptial staff and leadership. We also ask you to pray for my Uncle Tom, cousin Kerry, and David's son Brandon as they advocate for David.
