Hi, my name is Melissa my little Pj needs to have major surgery. He was diagnosed with a Perineal hernia which is very rare to see in cats and Pj has 2. He was most likely born with this defect which can be life-threatening if left untreated. The perineal hernia can continue to widen and there is an increased risk over time that organs can become trapped in the defect. His colon is severely budging into the perineal space which is located between the anus and bulb of the penis preventing Pj from having a bowel movement on his own, causing him to be in extreme pain.
Pj is the sweetest cat who was dropped off alongside the road at our house in the middle of the night. He was crying in fear when I found him, wet from the rain and weak. When we took him in and noticed right away he was having health issues. He was taken to multiple specialists and vets for over a year until we got a diagnosis from Penn Vet in Philadelphia.
The cost of the surgery is $3,980.01, We are looking for donations to help with the cost of the surgery to help Pj. Thank you in advance, from the bottom of my heart, for considering and for any amount you may choose to give.
